Volunteers show their commitment to improving themselves and the Scouting program by participating in training activities that help them learn the goals of the program and skills needed to provide an effective, safe, and fun program to youth.
Training Courses can be provided through the MyScout service and can be found at Scouting.org. Click on theMyScouting link at the top right and sign in or create a new account USING YOUR BSA MEMBER ID (This is important so that all training you complete online is recorded at the council level) Courses Include: This is Scouting, All Cub Scout Leader Specific Training, Boy Scout Fast Start, Venturing Fast Start, Start Unit, Commissioner Fast Start, Physical Wellness, Safe Swim (2 yr), Safety Afloat (2yr), Weather Hazards (2yr), Climb On Safely, Trek Safely, Troop Committee Challenge, Staffing the District Committee, Youth Protection Training |

Council-wide Youth Protection Training Initiative

Recently at the August meeting, the Colonial Virginia Council Executive Committee approved a resolution to improve the percentage of registered leaders that are current in Youth Protection Training.
