Be a Scout

BEASCOUT.ORG
So, you or your son or daughter wants to be a Scout, but you don’t know where to start?! You have come to the right place!!

It’s more than a motto, it’s a way of life. Being prepared means having the ability to deal with the many challenges life presents– that’s what Scouting is all about. Through it’s time-tested program, Scouting provides young people with the opportunities to mentor to their peers, build character, and enrich their faith. These activities build stronger family bonds and help youth reach their full potential by instilling values that last a lifetime. The result is children, families, and communities that are stronger and better prepared for the future.

The programs of the Boy Scouts of America are:

CUB SCOUTS, Boys and Girls ages 6-10 or Kindergarten-5th Graders

Cub Scouting is a year-round family program that introduces young men to the outdoors, their community, and encourages them to gain a senses of personal achievement through teamwork, fun activities, and achievement.

Scouts BSA are introduced to many different skills including first aid, outdoors skills, health & nutrition, citizenship, leadership, and many other topics, including over 140 Merit Badges of nearly every skill or trade imaginable.  All this is done through a youth run program, advised by adult leaders

VENTURING AND SEA SCOUTING, Girls and Boys age 14 or have graduated the 8th grade through age 20

Venturing and Sea Scouting are programs for young adults that let them determine what is fun and provides them an opportunity work as a team to develop solutions and plans for upcoming activities.

Sea Scouting focuses on being on the water, if it be sailing, kayaking, rowing, canoeing; if you like getting wet or spending time in the water, this is the group for you.

Venturing focuses on whatever outdoor experience the youth decide on.  Adventures may include white water rafting, backpacking, rock climbing, long term camping, backcountry trips, and many more options.
