2006 Lodge Leadership Development Conference

Are you a chapter or lodge officer, or adviser, or want to be? Then plan now on attending the 2006 Lodge Leadership Development Conference being held at Station One Hotel, on Atlantic Ave in Virginia Beach on Friday evening and Saturday, March 10th and 11th. The conference will begin at 7 PM Friday night and finish up around 5PM on Saturday. Come and learn more about the OA and your role in the order especially if you intend to run for a chapter or lodge office.

2006 National Order of the Arrow Conference

The 2006 NOAC will be held this year at Michigan State University, in East Lansing, Michigan. Are you going?

2006 Winter Ordeal

Winter Ordeal 2006 Location: The 2006 Wahunsenakah Lodge Winter Ordeal will be held at the Tidewater Boy Scout Camp Pipsico (Camp Lions area) located in Spring Grove, Virginia. Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, sheets/blanket, etc. The water has been turned off in the camp so shower facilities will not be available for the weekend. Class "A" uniforms are needed for some of the events so please remember to bring them. Work clothes will be needed on Saturday. A map showing directions to Camp Pipsico. There will also be signs posted at camp to assist you in finding the registration/check-in area.

Parking: No vehicles will be allowed into the main camping area without the expressed written permission of the Lodge Professional and/or Volunteer Adviser.

Check-in (registration) at the Ordeal: There will be signs to direct Brothers to the check-in area. Camp sites will be assigned to each Chapter. It may be necessary for more than one chapter to share a campsite. Do not proceed to a campsite until your check-in is completed.

Water: Since the water will be turned off in the main camp, it is necessary to haul water from the camp entrance area to Camp Lions for our use. Scout Leaders are requested to bring 5 gallon (or larger) water coolers and/or jugs with them to the Ordeal. Youth members should bring their canteens filled with water. The jugs should be filled prior to arriving at the Camp. Please mark each of your containers so that they can be returned to you on Sunday morning. If you will bring 5 gallon water containers, contact Alan Updike and inform him of how many you will bring.

The registration form is available from the documents page.

Conclave 2006

Conclave, that function where Arrowmen from across the sate gather for a weekend of training, competition and fellowship. This next Conclave is being hosted by Shenshapotoo Lodge and will be held at Camp Rock Enon.

Who can attend? Any registered member of the lodge can submit an application to attend. You do not need to be a Lodge or Chapter Officer (if you are, your participation is expected). The registration form can be downloaded from the Lodge Documents Page or from here.

Registration deadline for late registrations (No pre-orders can be ordered) March 28, 2006.

New web site launched

The National OA committee has launched a new web site specifically for the new Arrowman. It's called Jumpstart, and intended to be an aide to the new members of the order, however it can also help some of the oldtimers as well. The site is password protected, however all you need is a copy of your OA Handbook to get in. Visit the site, the link is on the Nat'l OA Home Page.

Are You eligible for Brotherhood?

Has it been at least 10 months since you took your Ordeal? Have you met the personal challenges to move on? You can find more information in the OA handbook, or you can download a list of the items that one must accomplish in order to qualify from the documents page
