When you think of summer camp, what comes to mind? For many it is the smell of the camp fire, memories of the fun, the experience of overcoming a new challenge learning something new. These are all memories that most any Scout will think of when asked about his experience at summer camp.
Nationwide, about 2% of all Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle. These men who earned the Eagle Award are some of the best and brightest this nation has to offer. It is because of this fact that the Colonial Virginia Council is looking to Eagle Scouts to lead the charge in the Capstone Eagle Campaign.
In the Hampton Roads area there are about 2,500 adult Eagle Scouts who live and work in the area. Many of these Eagle Scouts did not earn their Eagle here, and are now like ships passing in the night among their fellow Eagles. They may be your neighbors and you co-workers and you may not know it.
The Colonial Virginia Council is seeking to reengage these Eagle Scouts not only with Scouting but with their fellow Eagle Scouts. Click here to start receiving the Colonial Virginia Council Eagle Newsletter to learn more about Scouting in the community and ways to reconnect.
