The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position or office to one or more of the following: their lodge, the Order of the Arrow, Scouting, or their Scout camp. Under no circumstances is tenure in Scouting or the Order of the Arrow considered as reason enough for recognition.

The Founders’ Award

The Founders’ Award was created to honor and recognize those Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge. The award is reserved for those who demonstrate that they memorialize in their everyday life the spirit of achievement as described by founder E. Urner Goodman.

THE SILVER DUCK AWARD

In 1999, the lodge developed it’s own recognition to be awarded to up to 2 youth members who have gone the extra mile in personal achievement during the year of the award in a manner that has had or is expected to have a lasting impact on the Lodge.

First Year Arrowman Awards

A First-Year Arrowman (1YA) who completes the requirements below, prior to the next year’s corresponding Ordeal, will be awarded the Wahunsenakah Lodge First-Year Arrowman Award (1YAA) – the Bronze Duck. As the 1YA works to earn this award, he/she will meet new friends, find new interests, and get a head start on the path of service that is so central to the Order of the Arrow (OA). The Bronze Duck matches the Wahunsenakah Lodge Totem, and is designed to be pinned on the Lodge flap to signify the 1YA’s achievement. Eligibility to earn the 1YAA is effective with the 2008 Winter Ordeal. Only a 1YA, who joined the Wahunsenakah Lodge beginning with the 2008 Winter Ordeal, and subsequent Ordeals, can earn this prestigious award. Scouts and Scouters who were Wahunsenakah Lodge members prior to the 2008 Winter Ordeal cannot earn the 1YAA. Below are listed the requirements for this award. Except for #3 and #4a, all requirements must be initialed by the Lodge Chief, a Vice Chief, Lodge Adviser, Staff Adviser, Chapter Chief, or Chapter Adviser.
